Job overview

We have an excellent opportunity for a SEMH Primary Teacher to join our expanding educational service and our new school ‘Endeavour House School’ based in Ilford. Working alongside the Headteacher you will demonstrate a clear understanding of the challenges of delivering consistent, quality learning opportunities.

Our schools offer a balance of academic studies, physical and outdoor education, vocational studies, and personal development programmes. Our children are taught in small groups or on a one to one basis, using bite size learning based on personal interests and community issues to help engage the children and help extend their concentration.  Using our trauma informed practices and our ATIC (Attachment Trauma Informed Care) model in a pro-active approach way you will help and support our children who come from backgrounds of Adverse Childhood Experiences. You would be expected to ensure all children and young people within our care are secure and receiving the best possible educational provision and outcomes.

The post requires the practitioner to have a sound knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage, excellent communication skills, a commitment to inclusive practice and can work within a multi-disciplinary team. You will also contribute to an integrated model of care and school development plan, whist supporting the pupils, recognising, and responding to their individual needs. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of differentiation and be flexible to work with and take responsibility for a small group of KS2 and lower KS3 learners, along with holding QTS Status. In return, we will offer to the right candidate the opportunity to join a developing and improving establishment that is in an exciting period of transition and growth.

Five Rivers Child Care is a social enterprise who make children the heart of all we do. We take them from a spiral of decent and give them a sense of belonging and self-worth. By doing this we invest in their futures to give them the education background they deserve and the life skills they will require to progress. You will receive training in Pro-active Approaches techniques as well as commitment to and support of your own professional development aspirations.
