Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant who is passionate about children’s learning and emotional wellbeing, to start in our school as soon as possible. They will be working with students who have Social Emotional, Mental Health and Behavioural Difficulties under the supervision of the class teacher. The role involves supporting whole class learning and small targeted groups within the classroom and specialist provision. In addition to this, they will be planning and running group sessions and interventions under the guidance of our SEMH leader. The successful applicant will have a patient and caring disposition; with the ability to quickly build strong and meaningful relationships with our most vulnerable students and their staff team.

 You must have:

• At least one years’ experience working with children, preferably in an education setting

• An interest in supporting children with SEMH and ASD needs

• Good Literacy and numeracy skills

• A great understanding of behaviour strategies

• Ideally you will also have an NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification. We can offer you:
