Smart Teachers is recruiting for a part-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 4 boy with challenging behaviour. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be required to work 1:1 daily from 9am to 12pm. This is a long-term temporary contract starting in September 2020, to go through until the end of the academic year. The school is based in Barking East London, and is accessible by various means of public transport, as well as having ample parking on site. 

The role

• Part-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with challenging behaviour

• September 2020 start

• The daily rate of pay for this role is between £40 and £45, experience dependant  

• Working 1:1 with a Year 4 child 

• To work collaboratively with the class teacher, parents, and other staff within the school to achieve the best results for this student 

• The hours of work for this role will be 9am to 12pm Monday to Friday, term time only 

The school

This is a large school located in Barking, East London. The school caters for KS2 children only and is part of a small academy in the local area. The staff work collaboratively and are friendly and welcoming to new members of staff. There is a great team working ethic, and the current Head Teacher is forward thinking, passionate and innovative in her approach. The school is accessible by public transport, as well as providing ample parking on site. 

Requirements

To be considered for the part-time SEMH Teaching Assistant position, you will require:

• Recent experience working with challenging behaviour 

• Experience working with children with references 

• Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills

• Eligibility to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
