Vision for Education are looking to appoint a SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) specialist Teaching Assistant to work at a school in Silverstone. This is a full-time role, ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for their next opportunity. To start ASAP, this position has the potential to be made permanent for the right candidate. 

The role

The successful Teaching Assistant will be working with a class of 4 pupils, and will move throughout the school with them, allowing them to build a relationship with the pupils and better support their individual needs.

They will be a passionate and proactive individual who has a good understanding of the curriculum and is able to work with the class teacher to deliver sessions in small group settings.

The school

The school is an independent special school for pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. The school supports its pupils to fulfil their potential by giving them unconditional support, providing them with good quality teaching and empowering them to effectively manage their own behaviour.

The school has been recently inspected and rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Have experience working in either Primary or Secondary settings.  

• Hold a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification.

• Have excellent behaviour management skills, SEMH knowledge and experience.

• Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required.
