This role is working 42 weeks per year during school term time and INSET plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

About the role:

As a SEN Administrator at Leaways School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will schedule and organise annual reviews and complete EHCP paperwork in a timely way, ensure that they are all regularly reviewed, you will communicate with, and be the point of call for external stakeholders – LAs, schools, therapists, social services, transport, and contractors, accurately record any new ones and support the response consultation process, gather information such as specialist reports to contribute to updating them, attend multidisciplinary meetings and work in collaboration with the SENCO to support staff to understand the legal implications of an EHCP. You will be source of support, advice and expertise for staff and cover reception as required. 

About you:

Ideally, for this role, we are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, you will be a hardworking individual with a flexible can-do attitude and have an organised approach. You will have a good eye for detail who can keep detailed, accurate and secure written records, understand the assessment process for providing early help and intervention, and you will have/develop a working knowledge of how local authorities conduct a child protection case conference and a child protection review conference. About us:

Leaways School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in Clapton, for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 17. Our school provides a safe learning environment for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs including autism and an EHC Plan. We also have a separate specialist area to support young people on the autistic spectrum (ASC) and a Primary unit taking children from 7 years old.  We aim to offer as close to a mainstream experience as possible but provide the additional care and support needed around each young person to enable them to thrive.
