Form Tutor post

Required to start September 2019

The Holmewood School is a small, friendly independent school meeting the needs of children with high functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, language & communication difficulties and SpLD. We are part of the Cavendish Education group.

We are looking for a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic humanities teacher to join our team of teachers to teach  to GCSE level.  You will be committed to providing the best opportunities for our group of learners and ensuring every child is supported to achieve their full potential.

We can offer you the benefits of working in a small, warm and friendly school to an independent school calendar with increased holidays and excellent professional training & development.

We are located in North London on two sites.  Our main site is conveniently situated directly opposite Woodside Park station on the Northern line.  Our Sixth Form Centre is located in Finchley Central.   We work closely with the other schools in our group, have extensive community links and believe in ‘thinking differently’ and being as creative as possible in our teaching.

A flexible approach to teaching, a willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life, and the ability to work under pressure with young people that can challenge us is essential to enable the best outcomes for our group of learners. You will have at least 2 years experience of working with learners with autism in any setting.  Experience of working with young people with behaviour needs or mental health needs will also be highly beneficial.

Interviews and teaching observations will be held at The Holmewood School (Woodside Park site) during  week commencing  Monday 25th March 2019

Please contact Simon Hardwick, Office Manager, on 020 8920 0660, enquiries@thsl.org.uk for any further information needed regarding the recruitment process.

For an informal chat, visit or to find out more about the role please phone Andy Lamb,  Deputy Head on 020 8920 0660.
