Highly skilled, SEN teaching assistants needed to work with children with SEND needs 

We are looking for outstanding SEN Learning Assistants to provide 1:1 and small group support to aid children with special educational needs at our school to learn effectively, inside and outside of the classroom. 

Ideally you will have experience of special educational needs and understand how to motivate and support children to achieve their potential. You will have experience of using a variety of strategies suitable for a range of special educational needs and be passionate about making a difference to children’s lives.  You are flexible and have a can-do attitude.  

The successful candidates will work alongside and support the class teacher to ensure that the child you are supporting is accessing the curriculum and making positive progress in all aspects of their learning.  You will liaise closely with the SENCo to ensure that effective support is delivered, either in class or in intervention.   

Your role will also be to support the school improvement plan led by the Headteacher, whilst promoting the well-being of staff and children in the school.

Hours: Full or Part time considered

Salary: FTE: £16,497 - £19,974. Please note the successful candidate will have their salary adjusted dependent on their hours.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Assist in preparing the classroom, receiving children and clearing away
 • Assist in planning activities and preparing materials to help the children access the curriculum
 • Lead and support class, group and individual activities, indoors and outdoors, including during teachers PPA time
 • Assist in monitoring children's progress, assessing achievement and recording results and observations, sharing outcomes with the class teacher 

Secure skills in English, Maths and IT are essential. Previous experience of working with children and young people would be an advantage.
