Job overview

Vision for Education, the supply arm of TES, are seeking to appoint an ambitious Full-Time Maths Teacher to work in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision near Huntingdon.  This full-time position is to begin from September 2018 and likely to continue on a long term, potentially permanent basis, if you are the right Maths Teacher for the school.

The desired Maths Teacher will be teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stage Three (KS3), Key Stage Four (KS4) and Key Stage Five (KS5). The successful Maths Teacher will be expected to have a broad subject knowledge and have the ability to teach a range of qualifications, including GCSE and Functional Skills. You will be teaching small classes and receive a high level of staffing support. The successful Maths Teacher will be expected to work collaboratively with their colleagues, complete planning and marking and develop an engaging Maths curriculum. Furthermore, you will be expected to contribute to transforming and developing a lifelong love for learning for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Whilst we are looking a Maths Teacher who has experience of teaching pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this isn’t mandatory. This is because it’s more important that the successful Maths Teacher is someone who is engaging, motivated and willing to develop their teaching approaches when it comes to supporting children exclusively with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

•Be a Maths Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Unqualified Teacher with at least 1 years’ experience teaching Maths up to GCSE and A-Level

•Ideally, have experience teaching children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including; Autism (ASD/ASC), Asperger’s Syndrome, Dyslexia and Dyslexia (although this isn’t mandatory)

•Be flexible, adaptable and able to hit the ground running in a busy and vibrant environment

•Able to adjust lessons and teaching approaches accordingly to meet the needs of the children you’re supporting

•Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring and engaging Maths lessons

•Have a genuine desire to become part of committed team of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) practitioners, specialising in Autism (ASC/ASD)

Applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are welcome for this Maths Teacher position, as the school has a very strong and well-developed NQT training and support programme.

At Vision for Education, we take our responsibilities to our practitioners seriously and our aim is to ensure you are well supported and rewarded for your efforts. As part of the Vision for Education team, and as a Maths Teacher, you will receive:
