ABC Teachers are seeking a Qualified SEN Music Teacher for an vibrant SEN setting in Leicester City Centre. This is a long term; full time or part time position starting as soon as possible and initially lasting until the end of the academic year in 2017.
This position is for an independent specialist school for young people aged 9 to 18 years with social, emotional and mental health issues.
The school is a energetic and successful City Special School where students have personalised and individualized programmes to support the pupils to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.
ABC Teachers are looking for someone who is able to multitask, has a keen interest with SEN pupils and also has had previous experience with SEMH Schools.
In order to be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Be eligible to work in the UK (must have a valid visa if applicable)
- Must hold relevant teaching qualifications (Bachelor of Education / PGCE)
- Have previous experience teaching within an SEN setting
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have a creative approach to learning
- Possess valid references, DBS/police checks or be willing to undertake them
- A valid Team Teach certificate is desirable although not essential as training will be given
- Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills
- Ability to use own initiative and to work successfully as part of a team
