Founded in 1971 and opened as a family-oriented British School, it was one of the first of its kind in Madrid. Today, it is based on five sites in central Madrid and has nearly 1000 pupils.
Hastings School follows the National Curriculum for England and also teaches in Spanish the two compulsory subjects indicated by the Spanish Ministry of Education. The school follows a creative, topic curriculum in the Primary section based on stories from all over the world. In the Secondary section pupils prepare for IGCSE examinations, AS and A Levels within the British system as well as Spanish university examinations.
Hastings School is looking to appoint a part time SEN Specialist from 1st September 2018. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience working with Early Intervention Strategies and in particular in Early Years, a teaching qualification would also be a plus. We are looking for candidates with an international outlook and a working understanding of how to plan and deliver intervention programmes. An ability to speak Spanish is an advantage but the willingness to learn the basics is essential. A growth mindset is a must!
