Job overview

Are you enthusiastic, passionate and have a good sense of humour? We would love to hear from you.

Arden Multi-Academy Trust is a family of secondary schools comprising of Arden Academy (Knowle), Lode Heath School (Solihull) and Park Hall Academy (Castle Bromwich). As a Trust we are looking to appoint an SEN Specialist Teacher for Communication and Learning Difficulties, to further enhance the provision for our most vulnerable children.

Arden is an OUTSTANDING school, which has a proven record of success at GCSE and A Level.  In summer 2017, 84% of pupils gained A*-C/9-4 grades in 5 or more subjects with 84% of students also gaining a grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics (66% gaining grade 5 or above).  The progress 8 measure rose from 0.27 to 0.37. 36% of GCSE grades awarded were at A*/A and 42% of pupils achieved the English Baccalaureate.  At A Level 99% of pupils achieved A*-E with an average grade per candidate of a B-.

Park Hall Academy and Lode Heath are both GOOD schools. In Park Hall’s most recent Ofsted in November 2017 many good and outstanding features were highlighted. They achieved an increase of 12% in their 5 A*-C (En/Ma) pass-rate this summer. Park Hall’s Basics measure also improved by 10% this year and their Progress 8 score (+0.40) is third in the local authority and well above the national average. Park Hall is a school with a very strong Sixth Form with results among the best in the country and they are the highest performing school in North Solihull.

As a Trust, we promise to offer you both a stimulating and highly rewarding experience in return for your motivational skills and good practice. The role would involve working across all three secondary schools, working with the relevant school SENCO.  Exceptional candidates may be interviewed prior to the closing date.

The Arden Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and as such expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

To arrange a visit or a conversation about this opportunity, please contact Wendy Howes, Headteacher’s PA, on 0121 748 0401 or email: recruitment@parkhall.org Alternatively, please visit www.parkhallschool.org.uk to download details and an application form.

We have very strong links with primary schools, and we work with business and industry to enhance the relevance of the school curriculum. We are keen to work in partnership with companies to enhance the part we play in the education and life of the whole community, and we have ambitious plans to develop this role. The network of sports clubs and voluntary organisations with whom we are involved grows each year. These are essential parts of our crusade for continuous improvement.
