Penrice Academy is a truly outstanding school, with wonderful students and forward thinking, inspirational teaching and support staff. We are highly successful with year-on-year exceptional results which now put us in the top 7% of schools nationally. We provide our students with the knowledge, skills and attributes to be successful as they move to the next phase of their education. As a school community we have a relentless drive and ambition to provide the best possible educational experience for each and every one of our students. Penrice Academy is part of Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT), a family of Cornish Primary and Secondary Schools, with a strategic vision to ‘learn together to help every child achieve more’. This is an exciting time to join our large, dynamic Trust, which is responsible for educating learners across four secondary schools, one junior school and nine primary schools. There are extensive opportunities to work collaboratively with experienced professionals across the Trust with unparalleled CPD and career development prospects for all.

We are seeking to appoint a SEN Specialist to take a proactive role in the 1:1 support of the educational and social needs of a student and to meet the requirements as stated in their Education and Health Care Plan or SEND Support Plan. It will be a requirement for the successful candidate to support the student’s learning in classes and additionally, the extended school provisions, as part of our enriched curriculum. The role will also involve collaborating in the development and delivery of specific interventions, either in small groups or within the classroom environment. Previous experience of working with young people with additional needs would be advantageous but not essential.
