Smart Teachers is recruiting for an enthusiastic SEN TA / Teaching Assistant / Special Needs Teaching Assistant / LSA to join a large secondary special needs school in Hillingdon. This special needs school caters for pupils from age 11 to 19 with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and other complex needs. The school is well resourced and has a strong therapy team to support the students. The SEN TA / Teaching Assistant / Special Needs Teaching Assistant / LSA will be working either 1:1 or in small groups with pupils to support them in the classroom. The role is to start ASAP with a potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.  

About the Role

• SEN TA / Teaching Assistant / Special Needs Teaching Assistant / LSA 

• Supporting secondary aged pupils with Autism and complex needs

• Must be comfortable with personal care 

• Assisting the class teacher in duties such as preparing resources and managing pupil behaviour

• Providing feedback on pupil progress 

• Role is to commence ASAP with a long-term position for the right candidate

• Daily rate starting from £70 depending on experience

In order to be considered for this role, the SEN TA / Teaching Assistant / Special Needs Teaching Assistant / LSA will need to meet the following criteria:

• Have recent classroom experience in the UK (minimum 6 weeks essential)

• Previous experience working with students with SEN, ASD, MLD, SLD or PMLD 

• Must be comfortable with personal care

• Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
