Although we are looking to appoint from February 2018, the employment start date will depend on the availability of the successful candidate. The period of maternity is likely to last for 12-15 months.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic full-time teacher for our Designated Specialist Provision which has 24 students with complex learning difficulties. The successful candidate will have experience of working with students with a range of complex needs including Severe Learning Difficulties, communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs and will join a team of professionals with a high level of commitment to these young people. The ability to teach Science would be an advantage.

This post is particularly suitable for an inspiring practitioner who can teach across the curriculum and has experience of teaching students working below National Curriculum level 3. You will be expected to demonstrate competency in using a range of teaching strategies to engage and develop students’ understanding to ensure they reach their full potential and be able to make a significant contribution towards supporting our drive to continue raising achievement and standards.

Titus Salt School is a mixed non-denominational community school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in Baildon, West Yorkshire, and was formerly known as Salt Grammar School. 

The school was founded in 1896 by the politician and philanthropist Sir Titus Salt, and has about 1,500 pupils. It was originally on a different site, and used to be segregated into male and female divisions. It moved to a new building, constructed under the Building Schools for the Future programme, in 2008.
