Position:     SEN Teacher

Location:        Norton College, Worcester

Salary:            £38,462.19 per annum per annum 

Hours:            Monday to Friday 

Contract:       Permanent, Term Time only

We now have a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teacher to join our close-knit team at Norton College in Worcester.

As SEN Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils’ achievement and ability to develop.

Purpose of Job

  • To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher/ Senior Lead for curriculum and learning.
  • To teach a range of skills and techniques as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.
  • Support the development of the provision that has a whole school impact.

Have knowledge and understanding of:

  • Strategies that relate to the education and personal development of SEN pupils including effective behaviour management techniques and opportunities to praise and reward.
  • Implementing a school’s vision, aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and action plans in relation to classroom practise.
  • Statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ attainment and progress.
  • The characteristics of high-quality teaching and learning as well as strategies to improve and sustain high standards of teaching and learning leading to achievement for all pupils.
  • The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning.

​Educated to Post Graduate Cert Ed/QTS level, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.
