Clifton High School is an academically selective, co-educational, independent day school for approximately 630 pupils aged 3-18 years. Situated on a beautiful Bristol site, our educational offering is underpinned by a strong pastoral and family ethos. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teacher to join our small team of dedicated Enhanced Learning Specialists. The SEN teacher will have experience of working with individuals with a range of Specific Learning Difficulties such as: dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia across the School. The successful candidate will be responsible for one to one, group and in class specialist support, assessment and providing guidance to teachers on teaching and learning adjustments.


It is essential for applicants to have a relevant Level 5 qualification and professional membership (full or associate) of one of the following: Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS), British Dyslexia Association (BDA), the Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE) or Dyslexia Action/Guild. It is desirable for applicants to have an APC/Level 7 qualification.


We would like to hear from individuals who have a genuine desire and enthusiasm for supporting children across the School, working with them to help them reach their full potential.


Experience of working successfully in a team and of writing Individual Educational Plans is essential, as is the willingness to teach at times outside of the timetabled day.  


The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community.
