Our students are at the centre of all that we do as a school.

Our school is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, creative and experienced Teacher of Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) to start in September 2021. • has experience in teaching students with a variety of complex needs working from level P3 to equivalent NC L3 and is able to design and deliver bespoke courses focusing on life skills, functional level numeracy and literacy, as well as supporting the students to enable them to access other mainstream subjects;

• can demonstrate recent experience of teaching students with complex SEND within the National Curriculum for England and an up to date knowledge of developments within the area;

• can work effectively with colleagues in the Primary section to ensure smooth transition of SEND students;

• can work effectively with Secondary subject teachers to assist the development of differentiation and SEND inclusive practice across the school

• can work with the SENCo to plan effective alternative curriculums for complex needs students;

• is able to oversee the day to day running of ‘the Hub’ including supervision of the learning support team;

• is familiar with, and able to use, EQUALS and PIVATS or similar;

• has taught students who have difficulties within the 4 broad areas of need as defined in the special educational needs and disability code of practice: 0-25;

• is able to contribute to the development of PSHE, pastoral life and extra curriculum opportunities;

The Package:

• A stimulating and supportive working environment with enthusiastic children who are keen to learn

• Salary up to £40,502

• Eligibility for a 25% gratuity payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract

• Favourable income tax rates

• Airfare for post holder and dependants at the beginning and end of contract, as well as return airfares after every full year of the contract
