SEN Teacher for EYFS and Pre-Prep (Part-time)

St John’s is a thriving Independent Prep school of 350 boys between the ages of 3 and 13. The School provides a broad, diverse and interesting curriculum giving each child the opportunity to access learning in a meaningful and satisfying way.

We wish to appoint an exceptional candidate to join the supportive environment of our SEN department in a part-time role. The main focus will be within our EYFS and KS1 department. You will be a well-qualified and highly motivated individual who is an enthusiastic and dynamic professional, committed to delivering success.

You will be passionate about SEN and have a resolve to make a real difference to our younger pupils by planning and delivering stimulating lessons either one to one or in small groups. The range of needs includes boys on the autistic spectrum, pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADD and ADHD.

A key aspect of working in this role is identifying individual needs and working with the SENCo to create a safe and supportive learning environment. We are looking for an innovative and forward thinking SEN teacher who can inspire students. 

Applicants must:

· Be qualified to at least NVQ3 level.

  • Have experience of working with EYFS and KS1 age children.
  • Have the ability to work with individuals and small groups.
  • Be flexible, resilient, committed and compassionate. 
  • Be able to communicate with parents and engage  them as partners in their son’s learning.

Applicants should:

  • Have good skills in English and Mathematics. 
  • Have experience of record keeping and tracking.
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills with clear speech.

Have confidence to speak to teachers and initiate solutions to potential difficulties when working with pupils in the classroom.
