The successful applicant will be an experienced teacher and have a strong understanding of the theoretical framework for comprehensive SEN skills teaching. He/she will have the capability to develop and deliver a high-quality SEN programme aligned with the School’s Mission and Vision.
What will you do on a day-to-day basis?
The successful candidate will:
- Be experienced in supporting students with a wide range of special educational needs
- Be experienced in supporting students for whom English is an additional language
- Be experienced in the International Baccalaureate Primary and Middle Years Programme (IB PYP and MYP) or similar inquiry-based curriculum
- Be responsible for collaborating on curriculum design and development
- Be able to engage students at all levels
- Be committed to high standards, interested in using a constructivist approach to learning and be enthusiastic about promoting international understanding
- Be an innovator who is committed to learning and up to date with current research
- Be an inspiring, challenging and empowering educational motivator
- Be visible, approachable, with excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour
- Be flexible, creative, and resilient
What will you bring to the table?
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
- B.A. Degree in Special Education or other relevant degree or teaching qualification focused on inclusive education specialist
- Relevant international teaching experience
- Excellent fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Experience working with children with SEN
- The ability to liaise with a team of professionals to coordinate services in support of students
- Able to demonstrate creativity, compassion and a desire to make a difference in the learning of our children
