Yeoman Park Academy is a Special Academy and would like to appoint an outstanding, creative, and committed primary or secondary SEN teacher to work in one of our four Primary Team classes to deliver a fun and exciting structured curriculum for a group of children with autism and severe learning disabilities.

Class groups are usually based around 8 children and a teacher plus two support staff. All children have an Education Health Care Plan and have behaviours associated with their autism which are minimised through a well-structured day with clear routines and expectations.

The successful candidate should have good interpersonal skills as they will be working as a part of a wider team and will be communicating with parents who themselves may need support. This is a real opportunity to make a positive difference in the children's and their families lives.

Yeoman Park is an outstanding academy for pupils with severe (SLD), profound (PMLD) and complex (ASD) learning difficulties school aged 3-18. The academy provides a stimulating, challenging and safe learning environment where individuals are valued and nurtured.

Qualified teacher status is essential, and experience of teaching SEND in a special school environment would be desirable. However, we would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers or those in the early stages of their careers who would like to develop their skills in a special school environment. All applicants would be required to support the development of new initiatives across the academy and Trust.

The ideal candidate will:

• be committed to Yeoman Park Academy's ethos of high expectations

• be an excellent teacher and a committed team player

• have a working knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Disorders

• have a proven track record of success

• have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of children

• be able to communicate effectively with parents and other professionals

The successful candidate will benefit from:

• full support and induction

• a strong and caring ethos among staff and pupils

• excellent CPD opportunities

• networking opportunities across Diverse Academies Trust

• salary sacrifice schemes
