Job overview

Develop your career by joining a school which truly invests in all its staff.

Holy Family is a successful and happy school which is undergoing a multi-million pound investment programme to enable us to expand and educate more students.

We are seeking to appoint an SEN Teacher for September to join our highly successful SEN department.

Holy Family is a successful, well-regarded and oversubscribed secondary school. 61% of students secured a GCSE grade of 4 or above in both English and Maths in 2017, with 49% securing the new government benchmark of grade 5 or above in both subjects. Our Progress 8 score is +0.16 and our A level value-added score is +0.39, one of the highest in the country. Students have access to an extensive extra-curricular programme which all staff are encouraged to participate in.

Every member of the teaching staff is provided with an iPad to support and enhance teaching and learning and access to excellent programmes of professional development, which earned the school the Gold Investors in People award in March 2016. We have an excellent record of internal career progression and promotion for our staff. Holy Family is a very friendly and supportive Catholic school with an inclusive ethos. In 2018, Ofsted described us as a good school in which “leaders are focused on achieving positive outcomes for students and have high aspirations for them.” We are also a school which has “effective strategies, valued by staff, to support staff well-being.”

Full details are available from the Headteacher’s PA, Mrs Fray, by email: t.fray@holyfamily.waltham.sch.uk; or via the school’s website www.holyfamily.waltham.sch.uk

The closing date for applications is Friday 23rd February 2018.

Holy Family is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Ofsted

We were delighted that our latest Ofsted report (March 2023) reflects the school's vision and ethos. Inspectors noted the strong teaching, positive relationships and opportunities for spiritual and cultural development as well as our commitment to ensuring that all achieve to be the best they can be. Some of their comments are below:

“Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel well looked after because leaders are considerate of their workload.”

“Pupils said they enjoy the strong friendships they build here. The school is welcoming and like a family. Pupils appreciate the supportive staff who push them to go the extra mile in their work. They are safe and happy at school. Staff have high expectations of pupils’ work and behaviour and leaders have clear aspirations for pupils to succeed.”

"Behaviour is positive in lessons and around the school."
