Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to The Oak Tree Academy.  I am delighted to be the Principal at such a happy and successful academy where all decisions are made with the best interests of children at heart.  I am proud of the academy and I feel privileged to work with enthusiastic and motivated learners, inspirational staff, supportive parents, wider community and a forward thinking Governing Body.

We are committed to the highest standards of learning and teaching and achieve this by using collaborative learning, challenge and a well-established praise culture to ensure that all children achieve their potential.

We are part of Northern Education Trust, a collaboration of primary and secondary academies across the north of England.  We are Outcomes Focused, Child Centred. If you would like to find out what it is like to be a part of our school family at Northern Education Trust, please come and visit us.  I would be more than happy to give you a tour of our school and introduce you to the people who make The Oak Tree Academy such a special place to learn.

Our children achieve great things both academically and in the wider curriculum throughout the academy.  Learning is exciting and fun so that every day is memorable.  The creative and unique curriculum at The Oak Tree Academy encourages children to ask questions, explore and use independence, collaboration and resilience. We have developed outdoor learning by creating a Woodland area in addition to the many outdoor learning areas we have in our vast grounds. The children are involved in every step of the learning process, from planning and designing to digging and planting right from Nursery.  We are pleased to offer a varied selection of enrichment opportunities.
