Smart Teachers is currently recruiting for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work at a fantastic SEN school in Lewisham

The role

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be working with students with a wide range of special education needs aged 2-16. You will have the opportunity to work in very small class sizes alongside other experienced and passionate support staff and creative teachers. You will be a great team player, someone who takes direction well but is not afraid to use your initiative when needed. Requirements

To be considered for the SEN Teaching assistant position, you will be comfortable:

• Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis.

• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons.

• Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils.

• Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and Healthcare professionals.

• Working alongside and advising learning support assistants

Other experience and qualifications preferable:

• Confidence in working with and communicating PECs & Makaton

• Team Teach qualified
