This 3-18 Academy is a world class educational legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Situated within the new East Village complex, the Academy serves the community to be established in 2,800 new homes, along with existing communities in Newham, Waltham forest and nearby London Boroughs.

We are looking for graduate Teaching Assistants who are passionate about education and have a flair for working with young people across all age groups in Primary education. Candidates should be recent university graduates of core subjects who would be interested to gain initial classroom experience as a Primary Teaching Assistant, or those looking to start a career path in Teaching.

Working as part of a highly experienced, collaborative and talented team, your role will be to provide support for SEN students, with disabilities and learning difficulties, on a 1:1 tuition basis. You will be encouraging and supporting individual pupils to reach their full potential, whilst demonstrating a creative and determined attitude that will help motivate students. You will be directly supporting the students with their Mathematics, Science or English, as well as helping to organise the teaching and learning resources available to students and staff.

37.5 hours per. Term time only

What we are looking for:

  • The ability to interest encourage, motivate and engage children
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team

You may be required to work in the alternative Resource Unit or within the mainstream classes. Working in the Alternative Resource Provision requires experience and training in working with ASD Students.
