ABC Teachers part of TES are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant role within a Special Educational Needs school located in the Walsall area. This will be a part time role beginning as soon as possible and be on an ongoing basis.
You will be a confident communicator with experience working with children who have special educational needs. In this role you will be assisting the class teacher with daily tasks in the classroom as well as working with students both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis in order to tailor learning to the individual.
The students in this school are of the ages 3 to 19 and have a range of learning difficulties, these being mainly Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues as well as Autism and MLD. It is a varied and friendly environment where you will be supported by experienced and passionate members of staff.
The ideal candidate –
• Level 2 TA qualification
• Deliver quality assistance to teacher(s) and pupil(s)
• Build rapport with the children
• In date DBS & on the Update Service
• Be eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa if applicable)
• Previous experience in an SEN environment.
What to do next:
To be considered for this position you will be required to attend a face to face registration and hold an enhanced DBS check in Child and Adult Workforce; you will need to pay for this upfront and add this to the Update Service. At the registration we will discuss in more detail the work that you are looking for, your experience to date, and also how we are going to work best for you.
We will need to gain references to cover the last 2 years, and a minimum of 2 references must be a school based. Our compliance team have a rigorous safeguarding and clearance process and this is how we know we are working with the best possible team of staff to employ in our schools.
