ABC Teachers, part of TES, is seeking experienced Tutors/Mentors to join our partner school based in Nottingham from September 2020 on a part time basis. 

About the role:

  • Supporting secondary aged students (between 11 and 16) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs 
  • Tutoring students on a 1:1 basis in the community - covering a variety of subjects but mainly Maths and English
  • Averaging 15 hours per week with the view to take on more hours if desired
  • Dealing with sensitive situations and challenging behaviours

  • A school for students with social and behavioural difficulties who have been excluded from mainstream education
  • Easily accessible from Nottingham and surrounding areas
  • Strong support from therapeutic services
  • A collaborative team ethos with a supportive ethos

About you:

  • As a Tutor you will have strong communications skills with the ability to build a strong rapport with students
  • Suitable qualifications such as Teaching Assistant, Learning Support, and Young People's Workforce are desirable
  • Be a non-judgmental person with a resilient character who can resolve behaviour problems quickly
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check
