Our school:

Thank you for your interest in this role. This is an exciting time to be joining Oaks Park High School.

We were proud to achieve a ‘Good’ outcome in all categories during an Ofsted Inspection in October 2023 in which Ofsted commented the following

‘The school is ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND. It has designed a curriculum that sets out high academic expectations’

‘Teachers have strong subject knowledge. This is reflected in their high-quality explanations of subject content’

‘Pupils are respectful and polite. They understand the school’s expectations in terms of conduct and behaviour’

‘Staff know their pupils well, and they build positive relationships with them’

The school is an increasingly popular choice within the local community and we are delighted to advertise this role due to an expansion within the school and a larger intake of students in September 2024.

The post:

This is a non-teaching post which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life.

We are looking for someone to join our well established, hard-working and dedicated SEN team to work under the direction of our SEN Leadership Team.

As a SEN Year Manager, your role will be to organise and deliver pastoral care for SEN students to ensure high levels of attendance, punctuality, behaviour for learning and academic progress, and to improve outcomes of SEN students by alleviating barriers to learning and improving communication and links between home and school. You will also need to provide administrative support for the SEN and Year teams, specifically relating to SEN children.

You will be expected to work effectively with both teaching and support staff at all levels as well as with parents/carers, SEN students and external agencies.

We are seeking someone who:

  • has experience of working with SEN secondary age students in an inclusion / behaviour / pastoral capacity
  • is passionate and committed to the wellbeing of all students
  • has excellent communication skills – in person, on the telephone and in writing.
