The role

Smart Teachers are recruiting for a SENCO and Head of Learning to join an outstanding school in Hackney on a full-time permanent basis to start in January 2022. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with pupils aged 11 – 16. 

The school

The school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and we have received extremely positive feedback from staff who have worked there before. More specifically, positive feedback is usually related to how friendly and welcoming the SLT are. The leadership team are mindful of ensuring that all the staff are looked after and there are many opportunities to progress within the school with the regular CPD courses. Situated nicely between easily accessible train stations. 

Requirements

To be considered for the SENCO and Head of Learning position, you will:

• Bachelor of Education / PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree 

• Hold a SENCO qualification or commitment to obtain a SENCO qualification 

• Qualified teacher status is desirable 

• Experience working with pupils in KS3 – KS4 (minimum)

• Experience working with a wide range of SEN 

• OS-trained teachers are welcome to apply

• Have strong communication, literacy, and numeracy skills

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
