We wish to appoint a SENCO/ Upper KS2 Class Teacher from September 2022. Do you have experience of teaching and driving standards in Year 6 and have a passion for supporting children across the school with SEND? St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an exceptional, experienced qualified SENCO or an aspiring SENCO who is willing to complete the NASENCO Award. The role would be class based for 2 days: teaching and driving standards and progress in Year 6. 

 

St Joseph’s is a one-form entry primary school located near Canada Water tube station in Rotherhithe. Our school was deemed to be “Outstanding” by Ofsted in 2012 and “Outstanding” in the denomination education and Collective Worship inspection in 2018. The successful candidate will have: 


• Qualified Teacher Status 

• National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or aspiring/ willing to complete this qualification

• Evidence of successful teaching experience in Year 6/ Upper Key stage 2

• Commitment to continuing professional development as necessary to develop role 

• Experience of successful leadership and management within a school 

• Proven track record of achieving outstanding pupil progress 

• Ability to contribute to professional leadership and management of a staff team and contribute to the work of other teams to secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all pupils across the school 

• Experience of using data and data analysis to drive standards 

• Clear knowledge and experience in all issues relating to the safeguarding of children
