Job overview

We are proud that Outwood Academy Danum is rated Good by Ofsted and we are delighted to be based in the friendly, South Yorkshire town of Doncaster. We are focused on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified SENCO or someone with a willingness to achieve National SENCO Award. You will be expected to deliver between 14-17 hours of teaching per week. If appointed, you will be able to access the extensive advice, support, resources, CPD and career opportunities available in the academy and across the Outwood Grange Family of Schools.

This is a key appointment in terms of enhancing and ensuring the positive life chances for our students through success and achievement. As such, we are keen to recruit a dedicated and ambitious professional who will add value to the academies in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.

The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2016 and as part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust we are determined to fully support colleagues within our Outwood Family both professionally and personally.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

In addition to this success, we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all staff receiving a minimum of two hours’ CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including a health cash plan, a cycle to work scheme, plus a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the school at a new stage in its development and be part of our journey as we strive for continued improvement, transforming the life chances of the young people in our care. If you care about the success of your students, and have the energy to make that success a reality, we would welcome your application.

If you share our vision, join our family.

Since becoming part of the Outwood Family in 2016, GCSE results have continued to improve and we are delighted that in its latest report, Ofsted noted that the ‘good relationships between pupils and staff are a cornerstone of the mutual respect’ we enjoy at the academy. We are focused on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.

We believe our success speaks for itself as we are above the national average for the number of students achieving at a Grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs.
