Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in the county of Buckinghamshire. There are approximately 950 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff.
A high proportion of our students are on the SEN register. The multi-cultural Academy serves a deprived area and has approximately 50% pupils from minority ethnic backgrounds. The Academy has won many awards including the NACE Basic Skills, the Investors in Families Award and we are a Flagship school for the Inclusion Quality Mark. We are also the first school in Buckinghamshire to have gained the EQualities Award.
We are seeking a SENCO to lead all SEN provision at The Highcrest Academy. You will have the vision, energy and a desire to make a difference, be able to confidently manage a team of experienced Learning Support Assistants and liaise with the Pastoral and Inclusion teams as well as external agencies. You will be an excellent classroom practitioner who will be able to support staff in the successful inclusion of students across the school. This post presents an opportunity to build on your existing strengths in a very successful school. In addition, you will be able to develop a vision and direction for learning support that will reflect Highcrest’s commitment to inclusion for all
