Your new school

Kingsway Park High School is a young school (10 years old) It has outstanding high quality facilities and resources.  The school is a forward thinking and reflective learning community which ‘successfully brings together pupils from a wide range of backgrounds, races and cultures’ (Ofsted 2017).

Leadership is strong and effective within the school and there is an established ethos where ‘every pupil is valued’ (Ofsted 2017).  The students’ behaviour is good and positive attitudes to learning are evident throughout the school ensuring that staff can focus on delivering excellent teaching and learning, and ensuring students continue to make good progress.

The staff members work collaboratively and strive to achieve outstanding, high quality teaching that provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for all students.

Your new role

From September 2021 we are opening a new Inclusion department, Kingsway Avenue. This will provide a bespoke curriculum for some of SEND students, including those with C&I, C&L, Sensory/physical and some SEMH. Kingsway Avenue students will attend foundation lessons with their foundation tutor, in “Kingsway Avenue” itself which is a purpose

and go to specialist lessons within Kingsway Park High School. They will have a strong pastoral support network though our Foundation Co-ordinator, their nominated TAs and our Inclusion Team and a range of tailored options for work experience, social development and personal progress.

Additionally we have a number of students with EHCPs or with SEN Support who access a full mainstream offer, a large team of TAs and specialist resource and a deeply inclusive ethos, on which we want to build.

We are looking for a SENCo with the experience and passion to oversee our full SEND offer.

The successful candidate will:

• Have significant strategic influence on the school, our culture and ethos

• Have a talented team of teachers, TAs, admin and pastoral staff

• Have a strong working base within the school

• Have the opportunity to lead an exciting project from intent, through implementation to impact

Our ethos is that every child can succeed and every child adds value to our school. If you want to lead an SEND offer, evaluate your success by finding every child’s potential and join us on our “Mission Inclusion” journey, we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll need to succeed

You need to have a real passion for your subject and want to work in a school where you will make a difference to the students futures and aspirations.

What you’ll get in return

As a new member of the team you will be joining an inclusive school where staff morale is high. A quality induction, appraisal and development programme is offered to all staff members and future leaders are often grown internally making it an excellent place for career development.  We are confident that new teachers joining our school will feel welcomed and happy.
