Smart Teachers are recruiting for a SENCO / SEN Coordinator to join a very small but fantastic special needs school in South West London. The SENCO / SEN Coordinator position is a permanent role to start in September 2019. The school requires proactive and passionate SENCO / SEN Coordinator join the team and hit the ground running with a strong handover. They have an age range of 8-19 year olds with mixed genders and abilities. The children mainly have autism, but there are also students that have complex, severe and profound learning difficulties. They currently have just 11 students at present, and all require 1:1 support. Although small, the school offers fantastic opportunities for career progression.

About the Role

• SENCO / SEN Coordinator

• Full time

• September 2019 start

• May include direct teaching

• Will be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team

• Allocating TA’s and timetables with Deputy Head

• Onsite training provided, where needed

• £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)

In order to be considered for this role, the SENCO / SEN Coordinator will need to meet the following criteria:

• Proven SENCO experience in the UK, or equivalent (essential)

• SENCO qualification (desirable) 

• Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
