Job overview

We are an independent day and flexible boarding school for girls and boys aged 3 to 13 years, nestled in the beautiful Kent countryside approximately an hour out of London. From September 2023, we are expanding the school to include Years 9, Years 9 and 10 in 2024 and Years 9, 10 and 11 in 2025.  Students will benefit enormously from a dedicated teaching team, offering real choice of study, alongside proven pastoral support and an important focus on student wellbeing. We will offer an academically ambitious forward-looking, co-educational day school providing students with the opportunity to study a wide range of GCSEs.

We are now seeking an inspirational SEND professional to join us who will play a key role in the expansion of the school over the coming years. You will join a dedicated teaching team and established SEN staff offering a real choice of study through to GCSE, alongside proven pastoral support and an important focus on student wellbeing.

You will be an experienced SENCO (ideally but not necessarily with senior school experience) with the skills and drive to develop and implement the years 6 to 11 SEND strategy ensuring that teaching and learning, achievements, attitudes and wellbeing of every child in the senior school matters. A willingness to participate in the extra-curricular and pastoral life of our vibrant and dynamic school is essential.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
