Darton Academy are seeking to appoint a SENCO to lead all aspects of SEN in the school.
Darton Academy is an inclusive school and has 60 learners with an EHCP and a further 130 learners on the SEN register.
Some of our learners have particularly high needs and they follow a bespoke learning pathway. Within our KS4 cohort, this is delivered through a life skills curriculum.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner who understands how to meet the challenges of managing a substantial SEND cohort within a large mainstream secondary school.
The department consists of a specialist SEN teacher, an LSA team and an SEN Admin Officer. We are also supported by a Trust appointed SEN expert who supports with the SEN strategy.
Full time / permanent to start April 2019
