The Ockendon Academy are currently looking for an accomplished SENCo looking to take on increased responsibility within the inclusion team.  This is the perfect opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual who is keen to really make a difference.

We are looking for an inspirational person who will assist in developing the SEND provision throughout the academy and keeping parents informed about their child's progress.  Candidates will be passionate about children's learning and development and keen to develop their own experience.  A good knowledge and understanding of EHCPs and the new SEND Code of Practice is required.  You will be working alongside external agencies to ensure that children make sufficient progress and achieve their full potential.  

We are looking for someone with a sense of community within the academy, the ability to develop colleagues' teaching and their understanding of SEND students precise learning needs.  You should have a close working relationship with the Principal and the flexibility to adapt to your environment.  

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be educated to a first degree level or equivalent and hold QTS.
  • Must have achieved a National Award SENCo qualification and have relevant experience. 
  • Must have Level 7 Access Arrangements qualification
  • Have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
