We are seeking to appoint a qualified SENCO or a good/outstanding teacher with an interest in special needs.
The successful candidate will be very well supported by the Assistant Head who leads on Inclusion but will also have access to all the support through the Multi Academy Trust.
You will be responsbile for ensuring that our SEND students are identifed, supported and that staff are clear about effective strategies that will help them to succeed.
The department includes an Educational Psychologist, Well-being and Learning Mentors and Learning Support Assistants with a variety of experience. The department has a particular strength in dealing with students on the Autistic Spectrum. Our close links with Riverbank Academy which is co-located on our site also provide invaluable support and opportunities.
The Learning Support department has excellent facilities including ‘The Base’ where ASD students can spend some lesson time in a supported environment, several small rooms for group and one-to-one sessions.
