Southfields Academy offers a unique and exciting working environment for a SENCo who is committed to inclusion and looking to further their career in SEND.
As SENCo, you will be working within the mainstream school which caters for a very wide range of SEND as we have a highly inclusive ethos. In addition, you will work closely with the ASD resource base manager. Wandsworth’s Hearing Support Centre is also situated at the academy meaning that you will be able to develop your own skills and knowledge working alongside these specialist bases, as well as supporting staff across the school to cater for the wide-ranging needs of the students they are working with on a day-to-day basis.
Southfields also has an SEN department where small group interventions take place with learning support teaching staff and qualified dyslexia specialists. The department is headed up by the Senior Teacher, SEN and is line-managed by the Deputy Head for Teaching and Learning, which highlights the importance of inclusion and quality first teaching for those with SEND across the school.
