Our small and friendly team at our Ridgeway Campus are looking to recruit an experienced and well-qualified SENDCo to join the team on a part-time (0.5 FTE), permanent basis. You will be responsible for the strategic development of the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising SEN pupil achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Put provisions in place to ensure that progress of pupils with SEN is good or better

• Ensure that the school carries out its statutory responsibilities regarding all students with an EHCP

• Support all staff in understanding the needs of SEND pupils and monitor progress towards targets for pupils with SEND

• Liaise with staff, parents and external agencies to co-ordinate their contribution, provide maximum support and ensure continuity of provision

• Support the identification of and disseminate the most effective teaching approaches for individual pupils with SEND through close liaison with staff, parents and external agencies

• Work with staff to develop effective ways of bridging barriers to learning through; assessment of needs, monitoring of teaching quality and pupil achievement, target setting, IEPs or Provision Maps 

• Provide professional guidance to staff to secure good teaching for SEND pupils, through both written guidance and meetings

• Lead on the performance management process for Support Assistants 

• Provide regular information to the head teacher and trustees on the evaluation of SEND provision.

• Maintain and develop resources, co-ordinate their deployment and monitor their effectiveness in meeting the objectives of school and SEND related policies

You will: 

• Have Qualified Teacher Status 

• Possess the NASENCo Qualification

• Possess a sound understanding of SEND policies and procedures

• Be reliable and experienced in leading and supporting other members within the team on SEND

• Have a knowledge, understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students 

• Be an innovative, flexible and reflective practitioner who is keen to learn

• Respect and promote the schools Ethos and Values

About OneSchool Global UK Ridgeway Campus

The start of the new school year sees our transition from the Victorian school in Cottingham to a new 40,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility in Scunthorpe. This excellent facility provides a technology-rich learning environment to assist our self-directed students from Y3 – Y13 to excel at the broad range of national curriculum subjects available.
