The Nottingham Academy is looking for an outstanding Learning Mentor to join their team with a focus on SEND.

This is an amazing opportunity to join one of the largest academies in the UK. The Nottingham Academy is one of only a handful of all-through 3-19 schools in the country with its own nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form provision across multiple sites with a capacity for 3,600 pupils.

The successful Learning Mentor will support Teachers to ensure that pupils engage more effectively with their learning and help increase levels of achievement through appropriate provision. They will also be required to cover PPA across the academy and work with both individual pupils and small groups. This is a great opportunity to combine mentoring skills whilst working in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidates will:

  • have an understanding of SEND and ideally also have experience of working with children with SEND
  • be able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies
  • be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • have the ability to engage constructively with and relate to a wide range of young people from different backgrounds
  • possess excellent communication skills, at all levels.

The academy is part of the Greenwood Academies Trust, which offers great development and progression opportunities, an attractive pension scheme and tax efficient childcare vouchers. You will be required to work term time only so this is reflected in the pro-rata’d salary.
