If you are a conscientious, empathetic and experienced TA / Learning Mentor / Youth Worker, who enjoys working with young people on their emotional literacy and academic development, then this role is for you.

You will be working on a flexible basis with a variety of age groups and abilities of pupil. As the schools we work with cater for Key Stages 1 to 5 and a variety of SEN including; Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties,  and Children with barriers to learning such as ill health. Therefore an empathetic and adaptable approach is paramount. You will be providing a vital service to our Education Centres based all over the Tameside area.

The role requires experience of working within Alternative Provisions, with a particular focus on PRU's, Secure Units and Residential care homes. Therefore, we are also looking for people who can build excellent relationships with children and young people who are otherwise disengaged from their studies; using these relationships to help re-engage and encourage children in to building a bright future for themselves. Ideally you will have a valid Teaching Assistant/PTTLS/Youth Work/Key worker background. However, we are prepared to accept applications from candidates who have the appropriate classroom experience. It is also desired that you hold a certificate in Team Teach and First Aid.
