St Clare Catholic Multi Academy Trust is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable teacher who is passionate about inclusion, to lead the SEND Lodge at St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School. A good understanding of how to support children with SEND is essential, as is a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision and development of the SEND Lodge and aligning efforts with the school’s core values. Working closely with parents and colleagues, you will ensure that every child receives the tailored education that they need and deserve. 

The right candidate will have resilience, flexibility, and a commitment to excellence. They will have a real passion for working with children who require a bespoke offer, recognising small steps of progress and celebrating all achievements. They will have experience of working in a SEND role, and have extensive experience of the Graduated Response. They will be committed to inclusion, having a vision for specialist provision being available in mainstream schools and in communities.  

We are looking for someone who:

 Will fully support the Catholic ethos of the school;

 Is an excellent and creative practitioner;

 Has experience of working in a SEND role, ideally in SEND or in EYFS provision, as well as the drive and ability to learn;

 Has knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication;

 Is able to engage and communicate successfully with parents and carers;

 Has a passion for children’s learning and development at all levels, and is able to find solutions to barriers to learning;

 Is able to lead, inspire and motivate others;

 Is able to use and interpret data and assessment effectively;

 Has a proven track record of significant impact on attainment for all pupils;

 Has the ability to form positive relationships with the whole school community and with outside agencies;

 Has the highest possible standards and expectations of themselves and others.

St Catherine’s is robust in promoting the safeguarding of children and is rigorous in its

commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. All

shortlisted candidates will be asked to disclose any cautions or convictions prior to interview.

The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, (amended 2013 and 2020))

provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain spent convictions and

cautions are protected, so do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are

In addition, an online search will also be conducted for all shortlisted candidates prior to

interview. If appointed, the successful candidate will be required to complete various vetting

checks, including an enhanced DBS criminal records check, a Childrens Barred List check

and a prohibition from teaching check. Please note that it is a criminal offence to apply for
