The Person and the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly efficient administrator who is passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs to join the team at Brook Academy and to contribute to the Trust vision of, ‘all different, all equal, all achieving together’.  In this key role you will be responsible for the effective and smooth administrative support of the SLT team in fulfilling their SEND/ Pastoral and HR duties, and will have line management responsibility for the academy receptionist.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, motivated individual.  You will need to be able to manage within a varied, busy and sometimes challenging environment – but with that comes the reward of knowing you are making a difference everyday to the lives of vulnerable young people. This position involves interaction with a wide variety of people and therefore requires excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with an understanding of the importance of customer service to ensure a high-quality service provision to staff, students, families and the wider community.

You will be competent in the use of ICT packages and have experience of dealing with sensitive information with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times. You will pay exceptional attention to detail and thrive in an administrative role where tasks will often need re-prioritising due to the nature of young people in the school.

The role is varied and responsive and you must be prepared to be flexible, tactful and respectful. You will work 37 hours each week during term time with an extra four weeks each year to be allocated and worked during the school holiday periods. The role would suit a proactive individual who would enjoy the challenge of working in a busy school environment and has the enthusiasm and the ability to use their own initiative, prioritise tasks and work to prescribed deadlines.

Alongside an incredibly supportive, dedicated and friendly group of colleagues, the benefits we offer include:

·        Membership of an occupational pension scheme (LGPS)

·        Performance management and CPD

·        Cycle to work scheme

·        Access to our Employee Wellbeing Service, providing free confidential advice and support

·        Access to Tech Scheme

·        Onsite parking
