Smart Teachers is recruiting an SEND Play and Youth Manager to join a special centre based in Westminster. The centre provides support for students aged between 4 and 16 years and covers a range of needs including students with complex needs. This is a permanent position starting January 2019.

About the Role

• SEND Play and Youth Manager

• Permanent contract

• Salary is £28,015 to £30,000 

• 37.5 hours a week (will include Saturdays)

• Co-ordinate, develop and manage high quality services for children with complex and multiple SEN needs

• Provide a creative, fun and varied curriculum 

• Maintain a high standard of education 

• Collaborate with parents and other professional bodies to devise individual education / action plans

• Map and plan for the holiday play schemes, exploring activities taking place in local activities centres (this will include transport arrangements, finances, risk management and staffing ratios)

• Develop the nursery to be financially viable and meet the needs of local families.

In order to be considered for this role, the SEND Play and Youth Manager will need to meet the following criteria:

• Hold an Early Years Qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher

• Have experience running and managing a team 

• Have a strong knowledge of SEND (essential)

• Knowledge of Ofsted, SEND legislation and Children & Families Act (essential)

• Have a positive non-judgmental approach

• Experience in recruitment, induction, training, supervision and coaching 

• Strong leadership and management skills

• Significant experience of working with children with and without  SEND and planning within the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and Birth to Three Matters Framework (essential)

• Ability to record, monitor and evaluate services and skilling team’s in recording and producing evidence of individuals outcomes and monitoring of service for development
