We are seeking a Primary School Class Teacher to work within our KS2Hub – students in our Hub arrive at Carew and are pre-pathway. We have two classes with 8 students in each class and require a teacher for one of our classes. The teachers are supported by 4 Teaching Assistants which includes an HLTA who runs our Woodland Wonderland outdoor learning classroom. Both classes are under the guidance of an experienced Middle leader who is our Therapeutic lead and our senior Assistant Principal who is the phase lead for KS2. Students in these classes require a nurturing and caring teacher with experience of primary school students from Year 3-6. We are undergoing the Therapeutic Teaching Award and have embraced this approach across the school. It is particularly important to be excited by this therapeutic mind-set in the KS2 Hub.

We are looking for someone with drive, creativity and a passion for teaching and supporting young people to achieve their best. Your teaching background is not important; what is important is that you have high expectations, love a challenge and have a determination to make a difference to the lives of our superb students.

In addition to details given in the attached Job description, experience of teaching in a specialist SEND setting is desirable but not essential. Carew teachers work primarily, but not exclusively, within one of three different teaching pathways. Skills for Further Education, Skills for Work and Skills for Life. Details of our pathways can be found on the Carew website and on our promotional video (also on the homepage of the website).

At Carew Academy we take staff wellbeing seriously – healthy and happy staff make great teachers! We have a unique family ethos and staff are able to get to know every child as an individual, our parents are also incredibly supportive of the school. Carew is a truly special place to work.

If you are considering a new challenge in your career then get in touch to find out what makes Carew different. We welcome applicants from all teaching backgrounds to join our team on the journey to Exceptional.

Please see the attached job description and person specification for full details on the role and the skills, experience and knowledge we are looking for.
