Pendle Education Trust is a family of schools with the single aim of raising educational aspiration and attainment in East Lancashire. 

There are currently five schools within the Trust, Colne Primet Academy, West Craven High School, Pendle Primary Academy, Casterton Primary Academy and Castercliff Primary Academy. We are now looking for a SEND Specialist Teacher to join our team working in our secondary schools at both Colne Primet Academy and West Craven High School.

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of duties with the ultimate focus being to enhance the teaching of and attainment levels for SEND students within the Trust’s secondary schools. You must be able to carry out individual assessments for students who may have individual needs and a key part of the role will be to assess and complete the necessary paperwork for Exam Access Arrangements for those pupils who require additional support in exam situations.

Due to the nature of the role you must be able to display outstanding communication skills as you will be working with a number of stakeholders including students, parents, teaching colleagues and external agencies and partners. You will be flexible and resilient and have the confidence to try new resources and approaches to teaching and learning in order to help students to achieve the very best they can.

  • In its first Ofsted inspection since conversion, Castercliff Primary Academy received a 'good' grading in all areas in spring 2018 after being named as 'inadequate' in its last inspection as Nelson Castercliff Community Primary School. 
  • Castercliff Primary Academy was congratulated by The Secretary of State for School Standards in 2018 for being amongst the top 2% of schools in England for the progress pupils make from Key Stage 1 to the end of Key Stage 2.
