About the role

Vision for Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly reputable SEND School in the Cambridge area, who cater for young people aged 4 - 18 who have a diverse range of SEND including: PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD, ADHD & SEMH.

The school is incredibly popular with staff and students alike due to their community focus and desire to deliver the best possible outcomes for their young people. They are looking for an inspirational & enthusiastic practitioner to join their welcoming team.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver a range of subjects to small groups of learners with complex needs. As the school caters for young people from KS1 to KS5 the successful candidate may be required to deliver lessons to learners outside the age range they are trained for.


Main duties include:

• Meeting the needs of a diverse curriculum through learning, play, & structured activities

• Liaising with and directing support staff

• Participating fully with the assessment and recording of progress processes within the school and sharing that information within multi-disciplinary teams

• Implementing and monitoring IEP’s, IBP’s and PCP’s

• Participating in staff meetings, personal development, & staff training events


Requirements for this post of SEND Teacher include:

• Teaching qualification (QTS / QTLS or equivalent)

• Experience working with young people with SEND in an educational setting

• Ability to plan activities with a high level of differentiation

• Ability to use formative assessment effectively to inform planning

• Excellent interpersonal skills
