ABC Teachers are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEND school based in Coundon, Coventry, for a qualified Teacher. This role involves working with children with special educational needs, with both full and part time positions available, on a short and long term basis. You must have QTS.  

About the role:

• Variety of positions – day to day supply, short-term and long-term positions available. 

• Teaching a small class of students with SEND in your own way and supervising outdoor activities.

• Working students with a variety of needs such as autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, PMLD, physical disabilities, and sensory processing difficulties.

• Work with supportive teams and develop your skills and experience supporting young people.

The school: 

This well-established academy is a special educational needs school for pupils aged 4-11 with significant learning disabilities. More than half of the students have autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) while others have additional needs, including sensory processing difficulties. 

The school has over four acres of beautiful grounds, including allotments, forest school a climbing trail and outdoor exercise equipment. 

About you:

• To work as a teacher within any of our schools, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience working with an SEN secondary or primary classroom or nursery setting (within the last 5 years) that we can gain references for

• The ability to adapt to different teaching methods to suit pupils with all abilities and preferably a good knowledge of the curriculum

• Someone who can create a calm and positive learning environment

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
