Hendon School is looking to appoint a SEND Teacher to join the SEND Department.
Salary Negotiable
The SEND department at Hendon School caters for a range of learners in a variety of interventions. We have over 35 students with EHCP’s and we also support a high number of students on the SEN register. Interventions include REACH, Guided Reading and Curriculum Support.
We are looking to appoint an experienced and passionate practitioner to oversee our vertical nurture group, REACH. The REACH group is based in the SEND department. This full-time provision caters for 12 students, ranging between Year 7-11, working at P level and early key stage one. The REACH Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a range of subjects including maths, English and Science (at entry level) as well as other practical learning opportunities.
This person will also be required to plan and teach some of our other interventions.
We wish to appoint a full-time teacher who is either primary trained or who has SEN experience. Alternatively, a KS3/4 teacher who is passionate about SEN and able to plan and deliver learning opportunities for P level and early KS1 learners in a range of subject areas. This person will need to have:
• excellent organisational skills
• outstanding teaching and interpersonal skills
• evidence of ambition and a commitment to continuing professional development
• the desire to maximise the performance of all students and ensure the very best progress for all
