Vision for Education, the supply arm of TES, are seeking to appoint an ambitious Full-Time Maths Teacher to work in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
This full-time position is to begin from September 2018 and may continue on a permanent basis if you are the right person for the school. The desired Maths Teacher will be teaching children with Autism (ASD) across Key Stage Three (KS3), Key Stage Four (KS4) and Key Stage Five (KS5).
The successful Maths Teacher will be expected to have a broad subject knowledge and have the ability to teach a range of qualifications, including GCSE and Functional Skills. You will be teaching small classes and receive a high level of staffing support. The successful Maths Teacher will be expected to work collaboratively with their colleagues and complete planning and marking. Furthermore, you will be expected to contribute to transforming and developing a lifelong love for learning for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful Maths Teacher will need to be passionate and committed about providing a unique and engaging learning experience for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
To be considered for the position as Maths Teacher you must:
•Be a Maths Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Unqualified Teacher with at least 1 years’ experience teaching Maths up to GCSE and A-Level
•Ideally, have experience teaching children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including; Autism (ASD/ASC), Asperger’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD) and complex needs
•Be flexible, adaptable and able to hit the ground running in a busy and vibrant environment
•Able to adjust lessons and teaching approaches accordingly to meet the needs of the children you’re supporting
•Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring and engaging Maths lessons
•Have a genuine desire to become part of committed team of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) practitioners Applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are welcome for this Maths Teacher position, as the school has a very strong and well-developed NQT training and support programme.
